Information

Lullaby of Broadway is three episode series of stand-alone weekend long LARPs that are all based on well known Broadway musicals, run in a style similar to Shakespeare's Lost Play. There will be no continuity of plot or characters between the episodes, just a general theme of singing and dancing.

Our first episode, Another Openin' Another Show, will be held on the weekend of Setember 19-21, 2008 at the Day's Hotel Timonium.

Play characters from such famous musicals as:

  • Annie Get Your Gun
  • Bye Bye Birdie
  • Carousel
  • Guys and Dolls
  • Hello, Dolly
  • Kiss Me Kate
  • My Fair Lady
  • Oklahoma
  • Paint Your Wagon
  • Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
  • The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
  • The Music Man
  • The Producers
  • You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
  • While everyone will have the opportunity to sing and dance and perform on stage, it isn't manditory. But still, strap on your shoes, put on your costume, and get ready for a game that is sure to be a toe tapping good time!

    How Much Does It Cost?

Lullaby of Broadway is using the most complex pricing scheme I have ever attempted in a LARP. The base cost for an episode of Lullaby of Broadway is $100. That’s a bit steep for a weekend long game, especially one where we don’t plan to feed you and you need to stay at the hotel. However, in a real sense, the base cost is really $25, which is an amazing bargain for a weekend long game, but you have to do some work and earn Service Credits to get the good price.

I am hoping to increase player buy-in by introducing a set of Service Credits. By helping to create props and scenery, set, take down, or do other administrative and logistical tasks, you can save money on the game.

You can see a complete list of Service Credits here (pops). More may be added as the situation warrents. And, best of all, some Service Credits carry over, meaning that if you earn more than $75 in Service Credits, you can carry over some of them to the next episode.

So, you are considered confirmed for Lullaby of Broadway once you pay the $25 downpayment. The rest will be due at or before the game. We'll send a list of Service Credits earned and your balance before the game, and you can always check that information here at the database.

    $25 for a weekend-long LARP. How's that for a bargain?
